When the editor of docrafts Creativity asked me to create a cake with quilling on, I thought she was joking! Well, she certainly wasn't, so off I went to spent several evenings experimenting with different techniques to recreate a quilled design using sugarpaste - here’s the result…
I have to say that I LOVED the process of making this quilled
hummingbird and I am now an official sugar quilling addict! Our Creative
Director Katy Godbeer and Senior Photographer Jon Mackenzie made a
fabulous job of taking the perfect snap of this cake – hats off to you
both!

Wowza, that looks amazing. Gorgeous colours and so creative, I actually thought you had used paper to start with!! I can't imagine this was easy, but I really enjoyed quilling when I gave it a go, so I might just have to give this a try now too! :) Hugs xx
